PHP vs IOP - same site, different dose.
Both are outpatient. The difference is how many clinical hours you spend here each week.

Partial hospitalization (PHP)
- Highest outpatient intensity at this site
- A full clinical day, then home or sober living each evening
- Often a step-down after inpatient care - or a step-up when IOP is not enough
Intensive outpatient (IOP)
- Several hours across multiple days each week
- Designed to coexist with work, school, or family life
- Common step-down from PHP or inpatient care elsewhere
How we choose
Level of care is a clinical decision - based on substance use, safety, living situation, and prior treatment - not a marketing upsell. If detox or another higher level of care is safer, we refer out rather than stretch outpatient services.

Safety & fit
- If you are in immediate danger, call 911 or the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline at 988.
- R&R Recovery provides outpatient levels of care - PHP, IOP, extended care, and group therapy - for adults who are medically stable enough for day treatment.
- When a higher level of care is clinically appropriate, admissions will help with referral to a vetted provider that can meet that need.
