IOP often fits when…
- Adults medically stable enough for outpatient care
- Safe to return home or to sober living each evening
- Ready for several clinical hours per week
- Often stepping down from PHP or detox elsewhere
- Co-occurring depression or anxiety when clinically appropriate
IOP is not enough when…
- Active, unsafe withdrawal that needs medical detox
- Need for 24-hour supervised care
- Immediate danger to self or others - call 911 or 988
- Severe mental illness requiring psychiatric hospitalization

Safety & fit
- If you are in immediate danger, call 911 or the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline at 988.
- R&R Recovery provides outpatient levels of care - PHP, IOP, extended care, and group therapy - for adults who are medically stable enough for day treatment.
- When a higher level of care is clinically appropriate, admissions will help with referral to a vetted provider that can meet that need.
